Final Conference - COST Action IS0703

The final conference of the COST action IS0703 "European Research Network on Learning to Write Effectively" will be held in Poitiers, France, from the 7th of May to the 8th of May 2012 in collaboration with the University of Poitiers.

This final conference will conclude four years of productive networking on how to improve our understanding of the mastering of written language production, and how the teaching and learning of writing can be made more effective for each and every European citizen, especially children at school and adults in the workplace.

ERN-LWE has brought together scientists from 22 countries who will present the scientific results of the four year COST Action, providing recommendations promoted by the action’s four complementary Working Groups.

- ERN-LWE Working Group 1 - Early acquisition of writing skills
- ERN-LWE Working Group 2 - Improvements in written communication
- ERN-LWE Working Group 3 - Design of written documents in the workplace
- ERN-LWE Working Group 4 - Technological advances in writing tools

In addition to presenting the results of the action an important aim of the two-day conference will be to promote discussion between researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, and citizens about the teaching and learning of writing in modern-day Europe.
